Nemesis claims first CS2 title with new roster at META CUP Season 4

First championship for our CS2 squad!

Our squad lifted the trophy at META CUP Season 4, a LAN held in Kazakhstan from February 21 to 22. It is our first championship since this new roster signed in January. The win also brings home $5,000 in prize money and +54 VRS points, pushing the team from #60 to #50 in the rankings.

The run started on February 21 during the BO1 group stage. We opened with a strong 13 to 5 win over Miracle Gaming. Next came a tight match against OMEGA, where OMEGA nearly forced overtime before the squad closed it out 13 to 11. The final group match ended in a close 11 to 13 loss against GoodGame Club, but the earlier wins were enough to lock in a playoff spot.

Day two was where the real fight began.

The quarterfinal against Sangal turned into the most intense series of the tournament. Sangal took Mirage 13 to 7 on their map pick, but the team fired back on Ancient with a 13 to 7 win. The decider on Nuke had everyone watching closely. The decider on Nuke went to overtime. In the final round, SELLTER and Sdaim won a crucial 2v2 to close the map 16 to 14 and send the team into the semifinals.

The next match against NOVAQ in the semis was more controlled. The squad swept the series 2 to 0, taking Dust2 13 to 9 and Nuke 13 to 8. Once again, the closing moments came from the SELLTER and Sdaim duo.

Then came the grand final against OMEGA, the Kazakhstan home team. The squads had already met in the group stage, and the rematch followed a similar script. Mirage, OMEGA’s map pick, went 13 to 8. On Nuke, the squad stayed in control and closed the map 13 to 9 to complete the 2 to 0 sweep.

When the final round ended, the moment belonged to Mag1k3y. Playing on home soil in Kazakhstan, he stepped forward and lifted the trophy in front of the crowd, sealing the first championship for this new roster.
